Kent is known as The garden of England because of all the orchards and crop fields surrounding many of the towns like Faversham, Whitstable and Broadstairs. Kent is also known as a 'London bolt-hole' because of its easy access to the city and is fast becoming a great place for the wealthy to buy up properties.


Rochester Castle stands on the east bank of the River Medway in Rochester, Kent, UK. The 12th-century keep or stone tower, which is the castle's most prominent feature, is one of the best preserved in England or France. It's a stones throw from Chatham, a historic port.




Just outside Maidstone is Leeds Castle. In 1952, it became a Grade 1 listed building. The castle has been around since 1086.

King Edward I acquired it in the 13th century and in the 16th century, Henry VIII allowed his first wife (Catherine of Aragon) to live there. The castle today dates mostly from the 19th century and is built on islands in a lake formed by the River Len to the east of the village of Leeds. It has been open to the public since 1976 and every year it holds a Classical Concert which includes fireworks, classical music, Spitfire flybys.





Faversham is situated on the north Kent coast just a few miles west of Whitstable. It has a market every Tuesday, Friday, Saturday in the town centre, and sometimes on a Sunday too.

It is world-famous for its historical pubs, the local brewery and a picturesque creek with restaurants either side.




Canterbury cathedral is well-known all over the world and has often been mentioned in various types of historic literature. Near by are the Canterbury Tales and the Marlowe Theatre.
